Some of us went to Ethiopia in November 2007, and spent the month doing some research on Ethiopian women leaving for Arab countries, especially Beirut (which in Ethiopa means a different place from Lebanon). And we discovered a lot of interesting things and met many people with a story to tell.
We filmed the women we met in Addis Abeba and Shashemane who wanted to go or had come back from arab countries, which there is a very widespread phenomenon. We then tried to find out what other key players are doing. We went to the ministry of labour, the national bank of ethiopia, the iom. From here my personal rant at the IMF office in Addis and their unhelpful attitude.
